Horse Racing
Horse Racing is a sports competition of horses running around a track whereby the horse which can reach the finish line ahead of the other horses shall win. Horse races are particular with the breed of horses such as Quarter Horses, Standardbreds and the most popular Thoroughbreds. These horses run on a race track that could either be flat or be placed with obstacles over which the participating horses should jump. Some race tracks are made with turf or grass while others have sand and other synthetic materials. The audience of such horse races make the viewing more productive by placing bets on the horse which they think will the event.
In Australia, horse racing was established during the time when early inhabitants have settled in the country. Through the years the industry has grown and developed, thus made its way to be one of the top three Thoroughbred horse races in all countries of the world.
The few steps prior to the actual horse race involves presentation of necessary documents about the horse. Before a horse can participate in a race, the breed of that particular horse must first be determined through the papers provided by the owner, lessee or trainer. Organizers of the horse races confirm the horse breed by referring to a few stud books containing characteristics and traits of each variety.
Only after the verification of the horse breed can it be entered officially in the horse race. Unless an error has occurred on the entry shall corrections be made if approved by the steward. It is a rule that one horse can only participate in just a single race for a day, this may be due to the fact that the actual racing is such a strenuous and difficult, not to mention dangerous for the horse.
Among the several factors that determine if a certain horse is allowed to participate in the race is if the horse is in a sound and fit condition. If the horse is found and proven to be drugged, then definitely it is not allowed to participate.
Another essential requirement before a horse can play or race is the fee and subscription expense to be paid by the horse owner, lessee or anyone entering the horse in the official race.
